Whether you were abroad for two weeks or two semesters, coming home can feel… different. That's totally normal. There are lots of ways to use what you've learned, stay connected, and start planning what's next.

A Few First Step

  • Update your contact info

    Make sure we have your current email address so we can reach you — especially when your transcript arrives.

  • Stop by and share your story

    We love hearing about your experiences, and future study abroad students benefit from your insight.

Transcripts & Credits

Keep an eye on your email so we can process your credits without delay.

  • Your host school or program will send your transcript directly to SIU Study Abroad Programs
  • We’ll reach out to confirm the info is correct, then forward it to the Registrar
  • SIU-led programs and exchanges are counted as SIU credit
  • All other programs will appear as transfer credit

Think Bigger: Fulbright Opportunities

Interested in teaching, researching, or studying abroad again — fully funded? Apply for a Fulbright U.S. Student Program grant as a graduating senior, master's student, or Ph.D. candidate.
