The Center for International Education at Southern Illinois University promotes and coordinates international activities on campus.

Our Departments:

Meet Our Staff

  • International Admissions

    Serving as the main contact for recruiting and processing applications from prospective international students.

  • Study Abroad

    Coordinating opportunities for students studying outside the United States, including programs, exchanges, and overseas scholarships.

  • International Student & Scholar Services

    Providing support for international students and scholars who are admitted to or currently enrolled at SIU. This includes coordinating activities such as International Coffee Hour and the International Friends Club (IFC).

  • International Partnerships and Development

    Managing linkages, faculty, and university international development activities, and establishing connections with international partner institutions.

Mission

We arededicated to promoting and coordinating international initiatives. We celebrate our global community by fostering awareness, interaction, and integration of diverse world cultures. Our commitment to student success encompasses nurturing academic, professional, social, and personal growth.

The CIE aims to:

  • Recruit, admit, enroll, and retain students from all nations.
  • Educate international students about immigration policies and university procedures while facilitating their campus integration.
  • Inform students about the study abroad opportunities available worldwide.
  • Promote faculty, staff, and student exchanges through the development of global academic partnerships.
  • Coordinate campus initiatives that support the University's academic mission by providing leadership to enhance our international dimension.

By doing so, the CIE transforms lives and brings the world to Southern Illinois University.
