Become an International Agent

Southern Illinois University (SIU) collaborates with a diverse network of Educational Agents worldwide. These agents and counselors directly engage with local students, guiding them through the selection of U.S. universities and programs, assisting with the application process, securing the appropriate visas, and preparing them for studying abroad. SIU staff train these agents to stay updated on all of SIU's academic programs, campus culture, community, and the overall application process. Our primary goal is to partner with agents to help students make the best possible choices for their academic futures.

Agent Applications are regularly reviewed for new agents. We select agents that align with our university's goals of recruiting using only the highest ethical methods while meeting SIU's diversity objectives. Once a contract is established with an agent, our office provides counselor support and training, campus updates, and direct student support. SIU prioritizes recruitment agencies certified through associations such as ICEF, AIRC, and/or members of NASFA.
