Southern Illinois University - Animal Science
Take stock of your career options.

Whether you’re interested in the commercial production of livestock, the health and well-being of horses and pets, or a career in veterinary medicine, our animal science program is the place to start.
University Farms, our 2,000-acre facility, offers students many opportunities to work directly with swine, cattle and horses. Our Beef Evaluation Center / Bull Test Station hosts an annual bull and heifer sale. Students may work in other parts of the farm or get involved with on-going research or mentored individual projects.
